November linocut print and the inked block.
Linocut

I work mostly by using the reduction method of Linocutting, carving the image in reverse, inking, pressing and carving the same block, in diminishing layers, from light to dark, gradually exhausting and so destroying the block in the process.  These tend to be small editions as the method is quite challenging, and once printed the edition cannot be repeated.  I also cut and print single colour blocks in larger editions.

All my work is printed by hand using an antique press or if a large print, by transferring the ink from block to paper by rubbing the reverse of the paper with a Japanese baren.
