Twenty five years ago my father-in-law bought a neglected forest plantation that covered a hillside above Betws y Coed, a few miles from Plas Tirion. Over the following years he carefully managed the woodland, digging in tracks, felling the timber and replanting large areas with native hardwoods. Year by year he planted by hand thousands of new trees, quite a task, as the ground is steep and rocky in places. It's a beautiful place that we love to visit, to walk among the trees and watch the wildlife. This year, with the purchase of a sawmill we are able to mill the felled trees and produce locally available untreated timber. We needed a logo and this is it! Inspired by the shy woodcock that nest in the forest and the ferns that grow there.
