In Autumn 2016 I was commissioned by the Mostyn gallery in Llandudno to produce an artwork for their Christmas window.  

 

Working in partnership with papercut artist, Chloe Needham, we produced ADVENT - a giant calendar inspired by traditional German streetscape advent calendars and based upon the beautiful Victorian buildings of Llandudno, and its residents.  

 

Over the month of December, the large paper scene came alive as a new window was opened each day, and the town made preparations for Christmas while a large Christmas tree gradually filled with brightly coloured decorations.  

 

The scene began as intricately cut pure white images, with gilt numbers and architectural detail, until December when viewers were able to peek through doors and windows at colourful scenes.
